Cost Accountant

SUMMARY:

This position will be located in Matamoros, MX at the CTS manufacturing operations.  (complete relocation benefits offered to qualified candidate.)  Responsible for all aspect of product cost standards, costs of goods sold reporting, variance analysis, inventory valuations and inventory reporting while ensuring cost accounting compliance with company policies and procedures.  Compiles data to support forecasting and annual business planning process.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish new product cost standards including direct labor and materials.  Perform review and revision of all product standards annually.  Review monthly standards revision to understand cost impact.  Inventory reporting for Sales & Operating Planning.  Work with Materials staff to ensure transactions / Operations procedures are correct and accurate.  Analyze and report Excess and Obsolete (E&O) material and work with Materials and Planning to minimize financial impact.  Own cycle count process and verification of results.  Partner with operations to improve inventory processes and controls.Prepare cost accounting monthly financial closing journal entries and monthly forecast report package.  Provide monthly standard cost variance analysis.  Provide monthly reporting for Corporate and internal requirements.Organize, lead, and report results of annual physical inventory.  Assist with preparation of year-end audit package.  Support annual business planning process. Provide  support in the general accounting function and Materials function as required.  Assist with SOX 404 Compliance in 2006. 


REQUIREMENTS:

BS Qualified Degree / MBA or CPA preferred.  At least 4-8 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.  Must be Proficient with English written and verbal communictaion skills.
