We are currently seeking a Six Sigma Blackbelt for to work in our Chihuahua, Mexico facility.

The incumbent would be responsible for scoping projects, developing project plans and business cases, and recruiting/training/leading project team members, tracking/measuring project results, etc. This position has significant impact on the success of the business.  The improvements implemented will enhance the business' ability to meet customer expectations, improve quality, reduce cycle times and cost. 

The main responsibilities are as follows:

 

1.             Lead projects: Lead improvement projects within the value center and effectively coordinate these projects with the value center champion and other improvement project teams.  Project leadership includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, launching project teams, using good project management to manage team activities, leading teams to execute projects with the problem solving methodology, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and developing team members.  It is also critical to identify integration issues with other projects/processes, and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals.

 

2.             Measure results: Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met.  Provide value center champion with the results and recommend appropriate corrective action.

 

3.              Recruit and train team members: Identify potential black belts and recruit team members into the Value Based Six Sigma infrastructure.  Provide training and coaching to team members to spread the base of Six Sigma Problem Solving tools and increase their team effectiveness.

 

4.             Integrate improvement projects: Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects and business strategy.

 

5.             Communication:  Ensure 2-way open communications take place throughout the organization with respect to VBSS projects.  This includes keeping the value center champion informed of program status and ensuring coordination of activities with other black belts.   This also includes capturing project case histories that can be re-used for other projects and submitting them  in a Best Practices format when appropriate. 

 

Minimum professional and educational background desired:

  • Bachelors Degree preferably in Engineering or Business, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Current Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional level experience in leading improvement teams.  Prior supervisory experience is a plus.  Should have solid project management  and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish is required
  • Should have a working knowledge of other unit operating functions such as Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations.  Must have the ability to learn and perform statistical analysis.
  • Must be a results orientated “change agent” who is an effective business systems thinker.
  • Effectively communicate with all organizational levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing the value center’s goals.  Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
  •  Understand statistical analysis tools/methodology, project management, continuous improvement, quality and basic financial principles and apply them to analyze the planned activities. Must possess strong PC and software skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
